5月29日，國防部舉行例行記者會。在回答東方衛視記者提問“5月26日，美國海軍“尼米茲”號航母打擊群結束訪問馬來西亞后駛離，經過新加坡海峽再次進入南海活動”的相關問題時，國防部新聞發言人張曉剛大校表示，在南海炫耀武力、興風作浪不得人心，中方將堅定維護自身主權南海和海洋權益，維護南海和平穩定。
