中國青年報客戶端訊（中青報·中青網(wǎng)記者 梁艷）在“六一”國際兒童節(jié)前夕，由聯(lián)合國兒童基金會駐華辦事處、國家應(yīng)對氣候變化戰(zhàn)略研究和國際合作中心、生態(tài)環(huán)境部宣傳教育中心及中國氣象學(xué)會聯(lián)合發(fā)起的“敢作氣候擔(dān)當(dāng)”青少年應(yīng)對氣候變化倡導(dǎo)活動在北京正式啟動，活動將持續(xù)至今年年底的《聯(lián)合國氣候變化框架公約》第三十次締約方大會（COP30）大會。

此次倡導(dǎo)活動聚焦提升青少年對氣候變化的認(rèn)知，鼓勵他們在家庭、學(xué)校和社區(qū)中積極行動，推動綠色轉(zhuǎn)型。

聯(lián)合國兒童基金會駐華代表桑愛玲（Amakobe Sande）表示：“氣候變化是一場兒童權(quán)利的危機(jī)。兒童對氣候變化負(fù)有最小責(zé)任，卻承受最大影響。我們的目標(biāo)是幫助他們掌握知識和技能，成為氣候行動的推動者。”

中國國家應(yīng)對氣候變化戰(zhàn)略研究和國際合作中心副主任丁丁指出：“過去十年是有氣象記錄以來最熱的十年。中國始終將青少年作為氣候行動的重要參與者，積極踐行《巴黎協(xié)定》。”

中國生態(tài)環(huán)境部宣傳教育中心主任閆世東表示：“氣候危機(jī)迫在眉睫，我們比任何時候都更需要青少年的創(chuàng)新力量。這項活動為他們提供了參與全球治理的重要平臺。”

中國氣象學(xué)會副理事長矯梅燕說：“去年的首屆活動成果已在COP29成功展示，充分體現(xiàn)了中國青少年的責(zé)任與智慧。”

聯(lián)合國兒童基金會大使王源也在現(xiàn)場分享他在馬拉維的探訪經(jīng)歷。他說：“因為氣候變化，馬拉維頻遭災(zāi)害，兒童受到嚴(yán)重影響。但通過聯(lián)合國兒童基金會與中國政府的支持，當(dāng)?shù)睾⒆觽冋诜e極應(yīng)對挑戰(zhàn)。”

此次活動還展示了多個中外合作項目，包括青海學(xué)校的氣候適應(yīng)性衛(wèi)生設(shè)施試點、海南職業(yè)院校的綠色技能培訓(xùn)等。未來，優(yōu)秀項目將獲得種子基金支持，并有機(jī)會在COP30展示。

“Step Up for Climate” Campaign Launched in Beijing to Empower Youth in Tackling Climate Change

Ahead of International Children’s Day, the “Step Up for Climate” youth advocacy campaign was officially launched in Beijing. Jointly initiated by UNICEF China, the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), the Ministry of Ecology and Environment’s Center for Environmental Education and Communications (CEEC), and the Chinese Meteorological Society, the campaign will run through the end of the year until COP30.

The initiative focuses on raising climate awareness among children and adolescents, encouraging them to take meaningful action at home, in schools, and within communities to promote a green transition.

“Climate change is a crisis of children’s rights,” said Amakobe Sande, UNICEF Representative to China. “Children bear the least responsibility for the crisis, yet suffer the greatest impact. This campaign is about equipping them with knowledge and skills to be change-makers.”

“The past decade has been the hottest on record,” noted Ding Ding, Deputy Director of NCSC. “China has consistently engaged youth as vital participants in climate action, in line with its commitment to the Paris Agreement.”

“The climate crisis is accelerating. Now more than ever, we need the innovation and creativity of young people,” said Yan Shidong, Director of CEEC. ”‘Step Up for Climate’ provides a platform for youth to contribute to global climate governance.”

“Last year’s campaign achievements were showcased at COP29, demonstrating the strong sense of responsibility and innovation among Chinese youth,” added Jiao Meiyan, Vice President of the Chinese Meteorological Society.

UNICEF Ambassador Wang Yuan also shared insights from his 2024 trip to Malawi: “Climate change has led to frequent disasters there, severely affecting children. But thanks to support from UNICEF and the Chinese government, children are learning to adapt and thrive despite the challenges.”

The campaign also presented several ongoing China-international cooperation projects, including climate-resilient sanitation facilities in Qinghai schools and green skills training for vocational students in Hainan.
