有記者提問：北京時間7月14日凌晨，尼日利亞總統(tǒng)提努布通過其特別顧問發(fā)表聲明稱，尼日利亞前總統(tǒng)布哈里當(dāng)天在英國倫敦去世。中方對此有何評論？

China has extended sincere condolences to the Nigerian government, its people and the family of former president Muhammadu Buhari following his death, the Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, through his special advisor, issued a statement announcing the passing of his predecessor Buhari, who died on Sunday in London following a prolonged illness.

林劍：布哈里前總統(tǒng)是尼日利亞重要領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人，帶領(lǐng)尼日利亞人民在國家建設(shè)道路上取得卓越成就。布哈里前總統(tǒng)也是中國人民的好朋友，為推動中尼關(guān)系和兩國互利友好合作發(fā)展作出了重要貢獻。

中方對布哈里前總統(tǒng)逝世表示深切哀悼，向尼日利亞政府、人民以及布哈里前總統(tǒng)的親屬表示誠摯慰問。

Speaking at a daily news briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said Buhari was an important figure in Nigeria, leading the Nigerian people to remarkable accomplishments in the country's development.

Lin also described Buhari as a good friend of the Chinese people, who made significant contributions to promoting the development of bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
