The deadline of abstract submission for 2024 Tsinghua Forum on Communicating EU-China Relations to be held in Beijing on 18th May, 2024 is29th February, 2024.
The theme for 2024 Forum is“Cultural Exchange and Trust Building”.The conference is bilingual in Chinese and English.
Background
Since the establishment of the strategic partnership in 2003,China and the European Union (EU)have been closely cooperating in various aspects, includingeconomic and trade exchanges, political interactions, and cultural exchanges.However, in recent years, the bilateral relations have been experiencingunprecedented changes and challenges.Misunderstandings between the two sides have deepened, putting the development of relations in a difficult situation. Yet,several EU-China high-level dialogue mechanisms were restarted in 2023, providing new opportunities for people-to-people exchanges and dialogues.
The two sides should interact with each other more actively todispel cognitive misconceptions, explore space for cooperation, and achieve mutual benefits.Discussing and communicating EU-China related topics is a crucial part of promoting cooperation in good governance, digital interconnection, low-carbon environmental protection, sustainable development, and so on.Promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Eastern and Western civilizationsis also of great significance.
With the theme of "Cultural Exchange and Trust Building", the 2024 Tsinghua Forum on Communicating EU-China Relations is open touniversities, think tanks, enterprises, and people from all sectors interested in developing China-EU relations.Paper submissions on the following topics are welcome, including but not limited to:
1.Image and perception of Chinain the EU and its member states
2.Image and perception of the EUand its member states in China
3. Opportunities and challenges forChinese enterprisesin Europe
4. Opportunities and challenges forEuropean enterprises in China
5. EU-China relations in the context ofthe Belt and Road Initiative
6.The cultural exchanges and mutual learningbetween the EU and China
7. The roles of the EU and China inglobal governance(e.g., sustainable development, climate change, environment protection, etc.)
8.Crisis communicationin EU-China relations
The conference isbilingual in Chinese and English.
Requirements
Length ofabstract: 200-250 words
Length offull paper: 6000-8000 words
The cover page should includethe title, the author's name, institution, correspondence address, phone number, and Email address.The main body of the paper should include the title, a 200-250-word abstract, 3-6 keywords, full text, references and notes, etc. At the end of the paper, feel free to add the bio of authors;
Referencesshould be inAPA format.
Outstanding papers will have a chance to be selected forpublication in peer-reviewed academic journals (such as SSCI journals),submit to blind peer review.The submitted documents need to conform to academic standards and have not been published elsewhere.
This conference does not charge conference fees and registration fees, but attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
