據路透社報道，日本首相石破茂4月14日表示，在即將與美國政府舉行的關稅談判中，日本不打算作出重大讓步，也不會急于達成協議。
美財長貝森特當天回應稱：我認為這對我們的盟友有利，尤其是先發優勢。通常情況下，第一個達成協議的人會得到最好的協議。
