據危地馬拉媒體5月30日報道，危地馬拉文化部宣布在該國北部的一個考古區發現了2800多年前的瑪雅城市遺址。危地馬拉文化部表示，這個遺址占地約16平方公里，可能是瑪雅文明時期最古老和最重要的儀式中心之一，有助于人們重新認識當時的社會組織。
