北京時間6月26日，在2025年NBA選秀大會中，中國球員楊瀚森在首輪第16順位被開拓者選中。在新聞發布會上，開拓者總經理喬-克羅寧談到了球隊對楊瀚森的培養計劃。
克羅寧表示，對于楊瀚森的培養，開拓者隊有計劃讓他在新秀賽季在G聯賽中歷練。
此外克羅寧還曾表示在第16順位選擇楊瀚森是一個非常重要的決定。
