北京時間6月10日晚，世預賽18強賽最后一輪，日本坐鎮主場迎戰印度尼西亞，最終日本6-0血洗印尼。
本場比賽，日本前場球員久保建英首發并擔任場上隊長，據統計，久保建英以24歲零6天的年齡成為日本隊在世界杯最終階段預選賽（10強賽/12強賽/18強賽）中最年輕的場上隊長。
此前的紀錄保持者是2006年世界杯預選賽期間的后衛宮本恒靖（現任日本足協主席），當時他28歲零2天。
