Despite the quick resolution, a detail from the circulated ID photo ignited discussion among netizens. The card, reportedly issued in 2013 and valid until 2033, showed Jin Shijia wearing black-framed glasses in his official portrait. This prompted numerous questions online: "Was wearing glasses allowed for ID photos taken in 2013?"

7月6日下午，澎湃新聞記者從上海市公安局人口管理總隊了解到，雖然金世佳身份證照片拍攝于12年前，但當時的人像照片標準與現行標準一致，拍攝時可以佩戴不反光眼鏡。

Addressing the public query, the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau confirmed that while Jin Shijia's photo was taken 12 years ago, the standards for ID photographs at the time aligned with current regulations. Applicants are permitted to wear non-reflective glasses when taking their ID photos, a representative said.
