中國皮影戲歷史悠久，是一種用獸皮或紙板剪制形象并借燈光照射所剪形象而表演故事的戲曲形式。表演時，藝人們在白色幕布后面，一邊操縱影人，一邊用當(dāng)?shù)亓餍械那{(diào)講述故事，同時配以打擊樂器和弦樂，有濃厚的鄉(xiāng)土氣息。

Shadow puppetry, a traditional Chinese folk art with a long history, uses cutouts made from animal hide or cardboard to tell stories through light and shadow. During a performance, artists stand behind a white curtain, skillfully manipulating the shadow puppets while narrating the story in local dialects and singing, accompanied by percussion and string instruments. The performances are rich in local flavor and charm.

皮影戲被普遍認為發(fā)源于陜西，流傳于全國各省區(qū)，雖然種類繁多，但區(qū)別主要在聲腔和劇目方面，至于影人制作和表演技術(shù)則大同小異，不同地方唱詞不同，皮影戲的表演內(nèi)容也就不同。

While styles vary in terms of vocal performance and repertoire, the techniques for crafting puppets and staging plays are largely similar. Each region has its own lyrical characteristics, which shape the content and tone of the performances.

皮影戲是一種高度綜合又比較獨特的民間藝術(shù)形式，它有著數(shù)千年的歷史傳承與豐厚的文化藝術(shù)積淀。由于現(xiàn)代社會的飛速發(fā)展，多種音樂文化元素不斷充斥著整個市場，人們的生活娛樂方式不斷發(fā)生改變等種種原因，許多皮影戲面臨消亡的危險，亟待搶救與保護。

As a highly integrated and unique form of folk art, shadow puppetry carries thousands of years of cultural heritage. Due to the rapid development of modern society, the influx of diverse cultural elements, and changing entertainment habits, many shadow puppetry faces the risk of extinction and urgently require preservation.
