當地時間6月2日，據《圖片報》報道，早在哈維-阿隆索參與勒沃庫森陣容規劃時，弗萊肯就已經在俱樂部的引援名單上。
當地時間周一，弗萊肯抵達勒沃庫森進行了體檢，并簽署一份合同，合同期至2028年。他將于周二前往荷蘭國家隊報到。早在哈維-阿隆索參與球隊規劃時，弗萊肯就已經在名單上。
據悉，轉會費大約為1000萬歐元，滕哈格也對這筆轉會表示了同意。
