6月27日10時許，G8699次列車從重慶東站駛出，開往黔江站，渝廈高鐵重慶東到黔江段正式開通運營。至此，渝廈高鐵重慶東至長沙段全線貫通，重慶至長沙最快3小時53分可達，成渝地區雙城經濟圈與長株潭城市群間聯系更加緊密。
