2025 年 6 月 17 日，國際制藥巨頭禮來公司（Eli Lilly）宣布，將以最高13 億美元的價格收購上市公司Verve Therapeutics。此次交易旨在通過 Verve 公司的基因編輯療法來增強禮來的心血管疾病治療產品線。

不久前，Verve 公布了堿基編輯療法VERVE-102的Ib 期臨床試驗的積極數據，該療法通過脂質納米顆粒（LNP）遞送堿基編輯器（Base Editor）以永久關閉肝臟中PCSK9基因的表達，從而降低低密度脂蛋白膽固醇（LDL-C）水平，以實現對包括雜合子家族性高膽固醇血癥（HeFH）在內的心血管疾病的預防和治療。

結果顯示，在 14 名雜合子家族性高膽固醇血癥（HeFH）和/或早發冠狀動脈疾病患者中，單次輸注導致血漿PCSK9蛋白水平和低密度脂蛋白膽固醇（LDL-C）呈劑量依賴性降低，其中，0.6 毫克/千克體重劑量組的 4 名參與者平均血漿 LDL-C 降低了 53%，最大降幅達 69%。

去年，Verve 公司公布了其VERVE-101 療法在雜合子家族性高膽固醇血癥（HeFH）患者中的Ib 期臨床數據，其中一位患者在治療后出現了嚴重不良事件——3 級血清丙氨酸氨基轉移酶（ALT）暫時升高和 3 級血小板減少癥。Verve 公司暫停了該臨床試驗，將重點轉向了VERVE-102。

禮來公司副總裁Ruth Gimeno在聲明中表示，VERVE-102 有可能成為首個適用于廣大患者群體的體內基因編輯療法，并有可能將心血管疾病的治療模式從長期護理轉變為一次性治療。

據悉，禮來公司已同意向 Verve 支付10 億美元的預付款，即每股 10.50 美元，外加最高 3 億美元的潛在不可交易的或有價值權（CVR），當 VERVE-102 在美國針對動脈粥樣硬化性心血管疾病（ASCVD）的 3 期臨床試驗中首次給患者用藥，或者在 CVR 結束或終止后的第十年之前，CVR 持有人將獲得此部分付款。

Verve 公司目前正在推進一系列單劑體內基因編輯項目，旨在安全地抑制肝臟中導致動脈粥樣硬化性心血管疾病（ASCVD）的風險基因，首批項目靶向PCSK9、ANGPTL3和LPA基因，這些基因已通過人類遺傳學和人類藥理學驗證為降低血脂水平的有效靶點。
