7月20日下午1時30分，臺風“韋帕”移動至珠江口外海，逐漸逼近珠海，最大風力達到13級。在登陸前，南方+從珠海海事局獲得受到“韋帕”風力影響的高欄港實時畫面。2年前，臺風“蘇拉”來勢洶洶，橫掃珠海南部海域登陸，高欄港是距離登陸點最近的地方。
