The Department of Molecular Cell and Systems Biology at the University of California invites applicants for an open position full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research in the Zhang Lab in Riverside, CA. This position will start in January 2025. The purpose of this position is to study the function and regulation of self-reactive T cells.

The Zhang lab at UC Riverside seeks to understand how immune homeostasis is maintained and the impact of aging on the immune system. We employ biochemical and molecular assays, stem cell technologies, single cell multiomcis and systems biology approaches to study the fundamental principles governing the communication between the key players of the immune system, and how the immune system adapts to various environmental challenges such as aging.

The candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Bioinformatics at the time of hire. Preferred qualities include self-motivation in immunology and molecular biology research, and good communication skills. Responsibilities include driving major research projects, technical training to lab assistants, participating in lab meetings, and reporting to PI of research progress.
