這是美國《國家地理》雜志2025年夏季刊在描述廣西桂林山水時引用的一句話。這句充滿意境的話出自美國作家、環境保護主義者和荒野保護倡導者西格德·F·奧爾森（Sigurd Ferdinand Olson）之手。
全球聞名的美國《國家地理》雜志在這份夏季季刊中，呈現的主題是——世界最美的地方/100處令人難以忘卻之目的地(The World's Most beautiful places/ 100 Unforgettable Destinations)。
在這份讓人深感輕松愉悅、且只代表美國《國家地理》雜志單方面視角的榜單中，中國和加拿大各有三處勝景上榜：廣西桂林、長城以及位于中國一側的喬戈里峰（K2峰）；位于加拿大阿爾伯塔省(Alberta)的賈斯珀國家公園、加拿大紐芬蘭拉布拉多(Newfoundland)以及加拿大西北通道。
