【嘉賓簡介Bio of Speaker】

Prof W. Brian Arthur is a leading economist and complexity scientist. He was the first to describe how technology markets worked under network effects could be dominated by a single player; later he introduced the new framework of “complexity economics." He has held Chairs at Stanford University and the Santa Fe Instittute, and is the winner of the Lagrange Prize in complexity science and the Schumpter Prize in economics.

布萊恩·阿瑟教授是著名經濟學家和復雜性科學領域的領軍人物。他率先揭示了網絡效應影響下的技術市場可能被單一參與者主導，繼而開創了"復雜經濟學"新理論框架。他曾在斯坦福大學和圣塔菲研究所擔任領導職務，曾因在復雜性科學領域的貢獻榮獲“拉格朗日獎”，因經濟學領域的貢獻榮獲“熊彼特獎”。

【講座摘要Abstract】

It is obvious that the economy creates technology, but less obvious that technology creates — and continually re-creates — the economy. Professor Arthur will describe how this happens, and in particular how AI technologies are creating a new and different economy. He will speculate about the next phase of intelligent technoiogies and about the economy these will lead us into.

經濟發展促進技術革新，這一點顯而易見。然而，鮮少人意識到，技術實則持續重塑著經濟生態。阿瑟教授將闡釋這一動態機制，著重剖析人工智能技術如何催生全新經濟范式。他將展望智能技術下一階段的演進，以及 這樣的技術將引導我們進入怎樣的未來經濟圖景。
