此前，青島男籃已經提前續約了上賽季表現出色的兩名外援韋瑟斯龐和喬丹·米奇。特雷沃·湯普森上賽季在深圳男籃效力，是一名內線球員，他將頂替楊瀚森的空缺；約瑟夫·楊上賽季在福建男籃效力，他在CBA效力多年，是一名得分狂人。
