5月23日，全國精神文明建設表彰大會在京召開。
中央宣傳思想文化工作領導小組決定，授予202個城市（區）全國文明城市（區）稱號，授予3316個村鎮全國文明村鎮稱號，授予4688個單位全國文明單位稱號，授予798戶家庭全國文明家庭稱號，授予890所學校全國文明校園稱號。
