目前，在獨庫公路的南段，清雪工作已經告一段落。但是因為獨庫公路屬于典型的山區公路，地質環境復雜，時常發生滑坡、泥石流、巖石崩落等危險，公路部門正在緊張地進行道路養護作業，其中一位養護工已經守護這條公路32年，他就是庫車養護所的養護工亞克甫·克然木，18歲參加工作時就開始養護這條公路，三十多年過去了，他依然堅守在這條“最美公路”上，用實際行動鋪就了天山通途。

　　庫車養護所養護工人 亞克甫·克然木：安裝擋石頭的網絲，安裝以后，這個小小的石頭不容易掉下來，就是這樣的石頭，看。這個是最危險的地方，最多石頭掉下來的地方，路上行駛的車輛不安全。

　　正在給山崖掛網的就是亞克甫·克然木，他一早就來到了獨庫公路南段的這處防護網加固作業現場，忙著給這面接近垂直的山崖掛網。雖然已經年過五十，但是他吊在空中的時候十分靈活，動作也很熟練。

　　庫車養護所養護工人 亞克甫·克然木：2005年開始裝防護網的第一個重要的工作就是這個裝防護網，為啥，看，這樣的石頭，不安裝防護網的話，石頭掉下去，影響人們的安全。獨庫公路開通前，掛完這個防護網。

　　從山下往上看，一張張包住山崖的安全網，守護著過往車輛的安全。

　　受天山山區冬季降雪、結冰等影響，獨庫公路每年都有大半年的“冬眠期”。每年10月到第二年的6月，獨庫公路會被皚皚白雪覆蓋。庫車養護所主要負責獨庫公路南段180多公里的邊溝清理、防護網、河邊路基加固等工作。

　　除了掛防護網，亞克甫還要帶著大家清理道路兩側的邊溝。邊溝是在融雪和下雨時給道路排水的，獨庫公路南段的邊溝有100多公里，需要亞克甫他們人工清理，工作量很大。

　　庫車養護所養護工人 亞克甫·克然木：清理邊溝，路面清掃，全部養護工作在旅游前做好。

　　下午兩點多，亞克甫招呼大家停下來吃午飯。這幾天，亞克甫和同事們要搶在獨庫公路通車之前，把冰封了一個冬天的道路養護好。他們經常沒時間回到養護站休整，午飯也只能在路邊對付一下。

　　簡單的午飯后，亞克甫和同事們又回到公路上忙了起來。這時候意外出現了。

　　庫車養護所養護工人 亞克甫·克然木：泥石流，石頭就下來了，堵上邊溝了，這塊需要我們裝載機來清理。

　　遇到這種落石封路的情況對亞克甫和同事們來說是家常便飯，很快一臺大型機械就來到現場，和工人們配合作業。不一會兒，就清理完了這處道路。

　　庫車養護所養護工人 亞克甫·克然木：原來我們人工做著呢，現在我們機械做著呢，現在變得越來越好，全部修補完到6月，修補了以后，通路了，游客來的時候，他們也都愿意來，我們美麗的獨庫公路，高高興興地回來回去。
