7月9日晚，據國足跟隊記者馬德興報道，在當天的訓練里，劉誠宇仍然在單練。
馬德興寫道：7月9日，國足繼續備戰東亞杯第二輪與日本隊的比賽，在聯賽中大腿后側肌肉群受傷的劉誠宇單獨訓練。
根據此前的報道，劉誠宇在7月8日的訓練里也是單獨訓練。
劉誠宇在6月29日的聯賽里，出場了75分鐘。他在7月初剛剛度過自己19歲的生日。
