Global Surge in Natural Hydrogen Development
今年以來,全球對天然氫的興趣正在持續增強,從油氣巨頭到礦業公司再到風投機構和技術初創企業,都在爭相部署相關業務,力求在該市場“分一杯羹”。
去年5月,中國地質調查局油氣資源調查中心組織召開全國天然氫資源調查評價專題研討會。會議一致認為,天然氫作為一種新興可再生清潔能源,兼具綠色零碳和低成本的雙重優勢,具有廣闊勘探開發前景,開展全國天然氫資源調查評價工作具有重要戰略意義。
今年以來,國外有關天然氫的融資和勘探活動愈發頻繁和活躍。美國CNBC新聞網報道稱,俄氣、bp、力拓、福德士河等行業巨頭都在不同程度推動天然氫業務部署。
This year has seen a continuous surge in global interest in natural hydrogen.From oil and gas giants to mining companies,and from venture capital firms to tech startups,a wide range of players are scrambling to deploy related business activities,all aiming to capture a share of this emerging market.
In May of last year,the Oil and Gas Resources Survey Center of the China Geological Survey organized a national symposium on the investigation and evaluation of natural hydrogen resources.The meeting unanimously concluded that natural hydrogen,as an emerging renewable clean energy source,combines the dual advantages of being green and zero-carbon with low cost,and holds broad prospects for exploration and development.Conducting a nationwide survey and evaluation of natural hydrogen resources is of significant strategic importance.
This year,financing and exploration activities related to natural hydrogen abroad have become increasingly frequent and active.According to reports from CNBC,industry giants such as Gazprom,bp,Rio Tinto,and Fortescue are all advancing the deployment of natural hydrogen business to varying degrees.

中國以精耕細作打破儲能“內卷”
Breaking the "Involution" in Energy Storage through Precision Cultivation
今年SNEC展會的儲能展區,巨型集裝箱儲能系統如鋼鐵森林般矗立,電芯容量紀錄一再被刷新——587Ah、684Ah、770Ah、1175Ah……不斷變大的數字背后,卻是一眾業者的慨嘆:“起步沒幾年就到了‘紅海’,競爭已到‘深水區’。”的確,當強制配儲取消、市場機制引入,儲能行業正在告別野蠻生長,趨于同質化的“內卷”式競爭困局已然浮現。
仔細分析不難發現,“內卷”的關鍵表征是技術路徑趨同。寧德時代、海辰儲能、億緯鋰能等巨頭紛紛押注500Ah以上超大容量電芯,并不斷突破能量密度的天花板。然而,當大多數“玩家”擠在相似技術的“賽道”上時,創新便很容易陷入“為升級而升級”的窄巷。有業內人士道出真相:“‘內卷’的原因就是同質化,大家都做類似的產品,爭奪同一類應用場景。”
當競爭維度壓縮,“價格戰”便成為最直接的武器,行業整體價值必然遭到侵蝕。而破“內卷”之道,就在于從粗放的“規模競技”轉向更精細的“場景深耕”。
At this year's SNEC exhibition,the energy storage area was dominated by massive container-based energy storage systems standing like a steel forest,with cell capacity records being continuously broken—587Ah,684Ah,770Ah,1175Ah...Behind these ever-increasing numbers,however,many industry players lamented,"After just a few years of development,we've already entered a'red ocean,'and competition has reached the'deep water zone.'"Indeed,as mandatory energy storage requirements are phased out and market mechanisms are introduced,the energy storage industry is moving away from its wild growth phase,and the dilemma of homogenized"involution"-style competition has already emerged.
A closer analysis reveals that the key manifestation o f"involution"is the convergence of technological pathways.Giants such as CATL,HEC,and EVE Energy are all betting on ultra-high-capacity cells above 500Ah and continuously pushing the limits of energy density.However,when the majority of"players"crowd into similar technological"tracks,"innovation can easily fall into the narrow alley of"upgrading for the sake of upgrading."An industry insider revealed the truth:"The reason for'involution'is homogenization—everyone is making similar products and competing for the same application scenarios."
As the competitive dimension is compressed,the"price war"becomes the most direct weapon,inevitably eroding the overall value of the industry.The way to break the"involution"lies in shifting from the extensive"scale competition"to a more refined"scenario cultivation."

A new article published in The Washington Post comments on the impact that recent legislations under Trump’s administration has had on the dichotomy between supply and demand regarding manufacturing of electric vehicles(EVs)in the United States.According to a report by the Rhodium Group,as previous incentives to invest in EVs such as the“tax credit for producing battery components”and the“consumer tax credit”are in danger of being phased out,“the United States is slated to have more battery and EV manufacturing than it needs.”In 2025,battery investment within the country has already decreased dramatically;“in the first three months of 2025,companies cancelled$6 billion in batter manufacturing–a record.”A bill has already been passed in the House whose aim is to“repeal most of the provisions”from the Inflation Reduction Act.Ron Wyde,a senator from Oregon,said in a recent news conference,“Hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs in the U.S.are now in danger…“My own view is that projects all over the country are being cancelled as we speak.”The article also notes that China,a“country[which]has enough manufacturing to meet the entire world’s demand for batteries–and may be looking to off-load them onto other markets.”

Following news that“President Trump signed joint resolutions of Congress on Thursday that block California’s effort to phase out gasoline powered vehicles,”The New York Times published article on the state-level impacts this may have in the future and the possible next steps from state officials to combat this legislation.These resolutions“reversed a Biden administration decision that allows the state to require that electric vehicles make up a progressively larger share of new vehicles sold in California until 2035,”when a full ban on“the sale of new gasoline-powered care”was expected.The decision drew“immediate legal challenge”from the state of California,and Governor Gavin Newsom opened an executive order“directing state officials to find another path that would move the state’s drivers toward electric vehicles and encourage companies to make them.”In a statement given by Newsom,he said,“Trump’s all-out assault on California continues,and this time he's destroying our clean air and America’s global competitiveness in the process.”

Uzbekistan Accelerates Green Transition: Promoting Electric Vehicles and Speeding Up Renewable Energy Development

As a major economic and populous country in Central Asia,Uzbekistan has been providing strong policy support to the new energy industry in recent years.It has actively promoted the popularization of electric vehicles and charging stations,while accelerating the construction of renewable energy projects such as solar and wind power.The country plans to increase the share of renewable energy generation to 40%by 2030.Industry experts believe that Uzbekistan's accelerated green transition is not only transforming its own energy landscape but also influencing the regional energy structure.It also provides valuable experience for other emerging economies facing similar challenges.
The International Energy Agency's recently released Global EV Outlook 2025shows that Uzbekistan's electric vehicle(EV)sales are growing rapidly,making it a leader in EV adoption in Central Asia.
According to the latest data from Uzbekistan's State Customs Committee,last year,the import volume of fuel-powered vehicles in Uzbekistan decreased by 36.3%year-on-year,and its share in the total imports dropped to 44.2%.In contrast,the combined import volume of battery electric vehicles(BEVs)and hybrid electric vehicles(HEVs)accounted for approximately 55.7%of the total.In terms of both absolute import numbers and share in total imports,electric vehicles have surpassed fuel-powered vehicles.

Business Internation Investment(BII),a development bank based in the UK,recently announced that they had“signed over$300 million in agreement to support two pioneering renewable energy projects in Egypt.”According to the press release,both projects–which are planned to be developed by Scatec ASA,a renewable energy solutions provider based in Norway,aims to“add over 2 GW of clean energy capacity to the national grid and avoid approximately 3.9 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions.”One project,called The Gulf of Suez Wind Farm,is“a$1.2 billion project and Africa’s largest onshore win development”and“expected to generate 4,500 GWh annually.”The second project will serve as“Egypt’s first integrated solar photovoltaic(PV)and battery energy storage system(BESS).”In addition,both projects serve as advancements towards Egypt’s larger goal to“generate 42%of its electricity from renewables by 2030.”

BBC News newly published an article reporting on confirmation that the current Scottish administration will“capitalise on renewable energy capacity”as is opposed to“expensive new nuclear.”Earlier in the week,the UK government announced several significant funding investments in nuclear energy sources–namely in“investing£14.2bn in the construction of Sizewell C in Suffolk and£2.5bn in small modular reactors in the East Midlands.”However,Scotland currently“has an effective ban on new nuclear facilities”–and the only“remaining active nuclear power plant–at Torness in East Lothian…is scheduled to close by 2030.”According to statement from Gillian Martin,Acting Energy Secretary,she reaffirmed the stance that that it was in the best interest to focus more invest on renewable energy as it was“cheaper to produce and is also cheaper for consumers.”Some critics of the ban argue that the ban is“wrongheaded”and will remove the possibility of bringing“tens of thousands of jobs”and“thousands of apprenticeships,”to local economies,as was stated by Ian Murray,a Scottish Secretary.
