據泰媒7月24日報道，泰國和柬埔寨再度爆發邊境沖突，已被停職的泰國總理佩通坦也就局勢發聲。佩通坦表態說，泰國和柬埔寨的談判時間已經結束，軍隊已經做好充分準備。泰國準備部署部隊支援邊境地區的士兵和公民。佩通坦現在仍擔任著文化部長一職。
