Welfare/wealth
區分這兩個詞的關鍵在于個人與社會，即“群己之分”，簡言之，個人的財富叫wealth, 社會的福祉、福利叫welfare, welfare 與well-being 同義。
自由主義巨擘密爾說過這樣一句話:Let us substitute welfare for wealth as our governing purpose. Wealth’s older mean: kindness, mercy, opportunity, propriety; but today we use the plural of those words. Money, being the instrument of an important public and private purpose, is rightly regarded as wealth.
