一道銀灰色的巨影劃破水面，背鰭像座小小的山，帶著細碎的浪花騰空而起，又轟然墜入海中，激起的水霧在陽光下架起短暫的虹。是座頭鯨！我們屏住呼吸看著它在船舷附近巡游，巨大的尾鰭拍擊水面時，濺起的水珠落在臉上，帶著微涼的咸。你突然抓住我的手，掌心的汗混著海水，在陽光下泛著透明的光，“你看，我說過會遇見的。”

離開前的最后一個黃昏，我們又去了初見鯨的海域。海水恢復了尋常的藍，平靜得像塊沒被觸碰過的玉。你說要給鯨寫封信，找了張貝殼當信紙，用鉛筆寫下 “謝謝讓我們遇見”，然后裝進玻璃瓶，擰緊蓋子拋向遠方。瓶子在浪尖起伏，漸漸變成個小點，我說可能永遠到不了，你卻指著天邊的晚霞：“說不定鯨正在云層上讀呢。”

收拾行李時，發現枕頭下藏著你的紙條，字跡被海水洇過，邊緣發皺：“海藍時見鯨是驚喜，而夢醒時見你，是我余生都想擁有的日常。” 屋外傳來你催促的聲音，說趕不上回程的船了。我把紙條折成鯨的形狀，塞進裝貝殼的鐵盒，腕上的銀鏈隨著腳步輕響，像在重復那句沒說出口的應答。
