7月23日，6名大學生在中國黃金集團內蒙古礦業一選礦廠參觀學習時墜落溺亡，另有1名老師受傷。 24日，新華社記者抵達事發廠區探訪。經記者介紹，涉事的礦廠已全部停工停產，事故發生地有關部門正在進行調查，禁止入內，記者來到隔壁相似廠房，由車間主任帶領還原事故發生的經過。
